Holland Expat Center South

Maastricht now has a centre for entrepreneurs and employees from abroad. The so-called Expat Center focuses on the South of the Dutch province of Limburg and, in cooperation with Eindhoven, also works in the Northern parts of the province. Particularly in the Southern part of Limburg, foreign employees are becoming increasingly important. There are a lot of high tech companies which require qualified personnel. In the region, but also in the Netherlands in general, there are too few qualified workers. Therefore, companies increase their efforts to find qualified employees abroad, also in neighbouring countries. Companies and employees can now find help at the Expat Center. For example, the centre will help with the application for a social security number or with finding a home. Even when looking for the optimal daycare, the Expat Center is the right port of call. And it doesn’t matter whether employees have a permanent or only a short-term contract. The Expat Center is open to anyone.

Internationalisation in the Euregion is becoming more and more self-evident. Besides the usual cross-border commuters, there are at least thirty more nationalities living and working in the Euregion. Add to this approximately 8,000 international students and several thousand employees at Eurocontrol and Nato.
