September 2025 wurde im Forschungszentrum J\u00fclich der erste europ\u00e4ische Exascale-Supercomputer JUPITER feierlich eingeweiht.<\/p><p class=\"p1\"><strong>Mit dabei: Bundeskanzler Friedrich Merz, NRW-Ministerpr\u00e4sident Hendrik W\u00fcst und f\u00fchrende Vertreter:innen aus Wissenschaft und Politik.<\/strong><\/p><h6>Entwicklung \u00fcber sechs Jahre<\/h6><p class=\"p1\">Die ersten Planungen f\u00fcr JUPITER begannen 2019. Nach europaweiten Ausschreibungen und jahrelanger Forschungsarbeit wurde 2023 der Aufbau gestartet. J\u00fclich gilt damit als Schl\u00fcsselstandort f\u00fcr digitale Innovation in Europa und in der Euregio Maas-Rhein.<\/p><h6>Finanzierung<\/h6><p class=\"p1\">Die Investitionssumme f\u00fcr JUPITER betr\u00e4gt rund 500 Millionen Euro:<\/p><ul><li>50 % durch die EU (EuroHPC JU)<\/li><li>25 % durch den Bund<\/li><li>25 % durch das Land Nordrhein-Westfalen<\/li><\/ul><h6>Fazit: Ein Quantensprung f\u00fcr Europa<\/h6><p class=\"p1\">Mit JUPITER setzt Europa ein klares Signal f\u00fcr digitale Souver\u00e4nit\u00e4t und wissenschaftliche Exzellenz.
